Free Online Legal Resources for Non-Law Librarians

Ever have people in the library looking for legal material and not sure where to start?  This short professional development session will introduce you to some freely available resources for conducting legal research online. It will be delivered by Rachel Klesch, ALIA Top End Group Convenor and Liaison Librarian at Charles Darwin University.

When: 7 May 2014,  5-6pm

Where: Charles Darwin University Casuarina Campus, Library Training Room, Level 2 (Building Red 8.2.24)

Cost:
•     Gold coin donation for ALIA members
•     $5 for non-ALIA members

2014 ALIA NT Recognition Award


Call for nominations for the 2014 ALIA NT Recognition Award, is once again, being proudly sponsored by Raeco. Nominations are due Monday 12 May 2014.

 The ALIA NT Recognition Award is an annual merit prize which is aimed at:
  • encouraging recognition of an individual or team working in any sector of the library and information profession in the  Northern Territory
  • providing an opportunity to promote innovation and excellence within the library and information profession
  • increasing the profile of the profession

The winner will be announced at the Library and Information Week dinner on 22 May, and presented with the beautiful perpetual trophy and $300 cash.

Photo: The NT Recognition Award was awarded to the Northern Territory Library i-stories team for their flash card language app which features everyday words and phrases in Anindilyakwa and English that are illustrated with simple pictures, photographs and videos.
