ALIA Top End of end year function 2014






The ALIA Top End Committee would like to invite you to our end of year function at the Cornucopia Cafe. Join with your friends and colleagues and catch up after another year in paradise. Everyone is welcome!

Where: Cornucopia Museum Café, adjacent to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory Bullocky Point, Conacher Street, Fannie Bay.

When: 12 noon Thursday 4 December 2014 (lunch time function this year)

Cost: $29 (plus the purchase of your own beverages)
This is a prepaid function, money can be given to:

Mains:
Bread rolls with balsamic & olive oil
Honey glazed champagne leg of ham off the bone (GF)
Rolled turkey breast with cranberry sauce (GF)
Potato gratin (V & GF)
Gourmet garden tossed salad with olives, egg, cheese (V & GF)

Desserts:
Christmas pudding with Brandy sauce (v)

Drinks can be ordered and paid for separately.

ALIA Top End AGM 2014



It’s that time of year again! The ALIA Top End will be running its Annual General Meeting for 2014. Refreshments will be served at the meeting and all are welcome to attend.

When: 13 November 2014 at 5:30pm

Where: Casuarina Public Library Community Room

What will happen in the meeting?
Come and listen to the winners of the 2014 ALIA NT Recognition Award,  The Paige & Dewey Buddy Libraries Membership Drive, tell you about their interesting project, and meet Paige and Dewey in person! For more details see full article in the September issue of Incite (p. 33 )

Generally the AGM will involve the nomination and election to the ALIA Top End Committee. There will also be a discussion over ideas and planning for the next year of events. Please bring any ideas to the AGM to share. 2015 looks like an exciting year with enjoyable events such as the Library and Information Week Dinner, Garden Party and professional development workshops.

Nominations:
Some existing committee remembers will be continuing while others will be retiring. Nominations are invited for convenor and committee members. If you are interested in being involved in the group committee please contact Jayshree Mamtora [Jayshree.Mamtora@alia.org.au].

What does it mean if I am a part of the committee?
Committee meeting are held every two months and the committee focuses on running events for the Top End including PD sessions, social events and planning. Being a part of the committee is a great way to meet people and become a part of a professional community while also contributing to the development of the profession.
