How can your library/museum/art gallery use Flickr? A workshop to show you how

Come to a hands-on workshop at the Casuarina campus of Charles Darwin University Library on Wednesday April 30th. From 5.15 for 5.30 to 7:00pm
Stephen Barnett will discuss and demonstrate innovative uses of Flickr in libraries around the world.

The workshop will have three parts:
1)What is Flickr and who is using it in libraries and museums
2)How to use it.
3)Hands on using it so bring some images on a memory device or CD!!

Flickr is a site that allows individuals and organisations to maintain a digital album of photographs that can be shared.
If you have not used Flickr before get yourself an account from Yahoo then you can sign in at http://www.flickr.com as it uses a Yahoo login (don’t ask it just does!!!)

RSVPs by Monday 28th April to Jayshree at jayshree.mamtora@cdu.edu.au

See you there! Enquiries to Stephen at s.barnett@nospam.darwin.nt.gov.au (Remove the nospam from our addresses!!)

Looking for feedback on ideas for Library & Information Week activities

An organising/ideas committee met to discuss possible activities for the week 19-25 May. We would love to hear from others what their views are and whether they would be supportive of the following:

Individual libraries to prepare an exhibition or display based on the theme Libraries are for Everyone

A library crawl in the CBD visiting those libraries within walking distance e.g. NTL, Darwin Public Library, NT Archives & Minerals & Energy. Duration around 1 & a half hours and culminating at a cafe for discussion and networking. This activity would be publicised and open to the public as an awareness activity to encourage greater use of our beautiful libraries!

Please send feedback to:
